Reader agreement
Terms of Use
Last updated 14 August 2026.
These terms govern Digital Editorial, the publication at digitaleditorial.com operated by Brayton Stafford. They are written as operator terms for the site and are not legal advice.
Acceptance and contact
By using Digital Editorial, creating an account, or buying a subscription, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Questions or legal notices may be sent to contact@digitaleditorial.com.
License to use the site
Digital Editorial grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read and use the site for personal, lawful purposes. Accounts are personal to the registered reader. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.
You may not scrape, crawl at abusive rates, bypass access controls, overload the API or ingest pipeline, interfere with authentication or billing, probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or use the site to build a competing feed by automated extraction.
Editorial character
Articles are AI-composed from cited sources and edited to a published standard of sourcing, clarity, and fact-checking. Even with those checks, coverage can be wrong, incomplete, late, or overtaken by later facts. Stories marked as flagged, developing, or single-source should be treated with extra caution.
Digital Editorial is not a wire service of record and does not provide legal, medical, investment, tax, safety, or other professional advice. Do not rely on the site as your sole source for decisions that require professional judgment or official records.
Original AI illustrations are editorial art. They are not photographs of events, witnesses, suspects, officials, victims, or other real people. Digital Editorial does not use scraped news photography for its generated article art.
The publication's apolitical, truth-seeking mission is an editorial and ranking policy. It is not a warranty that every ranking, omission, headline, or article will be neutral, complete, or accepted by every reader.
Paid plan
Digital Editorial Plus costs $3.33/month and unlocks paid custom aggregation desks. Billing is handled by Stripe. You may cancel anytime through the Stripe customer portal linked from your account page. Unless required by law, partial months are not refunded, and access continues until the end of the paid billing period.
User topics and custom feeds
Topics, keywords, feed names, and preferred sources you submit must be lawful and must not request illegal activity, harassment, privacy invasion, malware, sexual content involving minors, or other abusive use. We may refuse, remove, suspend, or limit feeds that create legal, safety, operational, or editorial risk.
Intellectual property
The Digital Editorial site design, masthead presentation, original article text, generated editorial art, software, and compilation choices belong to Digital Editorial or its licensors. Cited source material remains with its owners. Links, quotations, summaries, and commentary are provided for news reporting, criticism, research, and other fair-use purposes.
You may link to Digital Editorial and share short excerpts with attribution. You may not remove attribution, misrepresent AI illustrations as news photographs, or republish substantial portions of the site without permission unless your use is independently permitted by law.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access, accounts, feeds, or subscriptions if you violate these terms, create security or abuse risk, fail to pay, or use the service unlawfully. You may stop using the site or request account closure at any time.
Disclaimers
The site is provided "as is" and "as available." Digital Editorial disclaims warranties to the fullest extent allowed by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and reliability.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Digital Editorial and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, content errors, service interruptions, or decisions made from reading the site. The total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid Digital Editorial in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $25 if you paid nothing.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Digital Editorial and its operator from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your unlawful use of the site, your submitted topics or keywords, your account activity, or your violation of these terms.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Illinois and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Digital Editorial operates from the America/Chicago time zone. We may update these terms as the service changes; continued use after the posted last-updated date means you accept the revised terms.
